5/08/04 - today I acquired the original father of the superdelta on the home page. His bloodline has torturo, Melano, butterfly and he is direct from Straits Aquariums. A friend who I have bought some of his progeny off has kindly let me try my hand at breeding him to kick off my phantom line. photos soon.

Melano carrying Black lace SD male

this is the son of the male i received today. He is beautiful but is useless at spawning so far. I wont give up on him yet though.

15/08/04 - my new torturo melano butterfly male spawned with his steel superdelta daughter. eggs due to hatch any moment. no photos until their tails recover from the spawning process. father very similar to pic above although darker.

22/08/04 - about 20 fry so far that I can see. Early days yet, update later. If you are interested in being put on the list for these fish please email me, there should be some butterflies, blacks and royal blues. At the very least being superdelta if not halfmoons.

10/09/04 - Atleast 20 fry, all looking good, there is 2 fry that are double the size of the other fry which I am thinking are the product of the "failed" spawn by the superdelta pictured above which occurred 2 weeks before.

3/10/04 - Not exactly thrilled with the progress so far. Fry are not developing at the rate i would like. Despite water changes and regular feeds, I have now stepped up to finely chopped blackworms hoping that will do the trick.

10/10/04 - I am going to say this is a failed spawn, there is still a few survivors but as their growth is severely retarded I will be working on them in time and probably keeping them to see how they turn out. Compared to other spawns I have had, something has definitely happened to keep their size so small. Not happy Jan.
